What is wndr?

wndr is a multi-sensory artistic institution that opened in September of 2018. wndr displays art from all over the world, showcasing well known and locally emerging artists in the form of Chapters. Each Chapter is temporary, but wndr is a permanent fixture in the city of Chicago.

Where can I find wndr museum?

We are located at 1130 W. Monroe in Chicago’s West Loop.

is parking available at wndr?

Street parking in the West Loop can be a challenge, so we generally encourage taking public transit and rideshare. There is some limited free and metered parking near the museum. The Kolcraft parking lot on Monroe is NOT available for public use and you may be towed if you park there.

is wndr museum handicap/wheelchair accessible?

Most of wndr is ADA compliant. Some exhibits are not wheelchair accessible. If you have handicap/accessibility needs, please contact hello@wndrmuseum.com.

can i buy tickets at the door?

There are two ways to buy tickets: online and onsite ticketing for same day entrance. If you have questions about ticketing, please email hello@wndrmuseum.com.

how many tickets can I buy at once?

Tickets for general admission are available in quantities of 1-10.

can tickets be refunded or transferred to another date or time?

All reservations are final and cannot be refunded or transferred to another date or time.

can i access the food and beverage space or retail shop without buying a ticket?

No, our food and beverage space and retail shop require a general admission ticket to wndr.

can you look up my reservation if i lost my ticket?

For any ticketing issues, please come to our ticketing desk.

is there an age limit?

wndr is open to all ages, however anyone 15 and under has to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Entry is free for little ones 2 and under. If you have questions or concerns, please email hello@wndrmuseum.com.

can i bring my stroller in?

We have strollers parking available. Please ask one of our ambassador staff for assistance.

are photos allowed inside wndr museum?

Allowed - and encouraged! Be sure to tag @wndrmuseum and use #wndrmuseum for a chance to be featured on our social channels. Please note, by entering wndr museum, you acknowledge that your photo may be taken and consent to its use in our materials.

what type of camera equipment is allowed?

Feel free to bring cameras that in no way interfere with the experience of other guests. Photography in wndr is for personal use only. No commercial or promotional media use is permitted.

how long does it take to experience wndr museum?

Guests usually take upwards from 2 hours.

how long will i have in the Yayoi kusma infinity room?

Guests are given 1 minute to experience ‘Let’s Survive Forever’ - a time guideline instituted by Kusama herself! Guests will experience the room in a group of no more than 6 people. Touching the artwork is strictly prohibited, and there will a security guard stationed inside at all times. Re-entry is not permitted.

is there a map?

Upon entering, you will receive a handbook that will guide your experience.

can i wear a costume?

Yes, however, masks and costumes that obscure your face are not permitted inside wndr.
